Minister to Engage with Entrepreneurs

On August 24, small and medium sized entrepreneurs and individuals whose businesses cater to the visitor experience are encouraged to attend a town hall meeting to learn more about the Tourism Investment Act.

The meeting will take place at the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation’s St. George’s Economic Empowerment Zone Hub at 6.00 p.m., and will be hosted by the Minister of Tourism and the Cabinet Office, Vance Campbell. The BEDC Hub is located at 11 Water Street, Upper Floor, St. George’s, and space is limited.

Government continues to invest in the future of the Public Service

Bermuda’s Surplus on Trade with Non-Residents Reaches $161 million

Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour, the Hon Jason Hayward, JP, MP, released the 2023 Q1 Balance of Payments & International Investment Position publication.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service Sends 23 Recruit Firefighters to Newcastle for a Foundational Aircraft Firefighting Course

“Through intensive training at the Newcastle International Fire Training Academy, our twenty-three brave recruits will be forged into a formidable team, armed with specialised skills to safeguard our international airport,” said Minister of National Security Michael Weeks, JP, MP.

On Saturday, 5 August, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) sent 23 recruit firefighters (including two female officers) to participate in a specialised aircraft firefighting course at the Newcastle International Fire Training Academy in the UK.

Virtual Webinar Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in the Hospitality Sector

The Ministry of Health is inviting persons in the hospitality industry to a virtual training webinar on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in the Hospitality Sector on August 16, 2023.

The training session, presented by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), provides an introduction to and the background of the Regional Tourism and Health Program (THP) and the various components and services it offers to the hospitality sector. It will also cover infectious diseases that can potentially impact the tourism sector as well as prevention and control methods.
