The Minimum Wage Act and How It Applies to Domestic Workers

With the implementation of the national minimum hourly wage and considering the number of queries received from the public, employers and employees, the Ministry of Economy and Labour takes this opportunity to reiterate that domestic workers, whether full-time or part-time and living in or out of their employer’s home, are entitled to receive the minimum hourly wage rate of $16.40 as of 1 June 2023.

Beating of the Retreat Wednesday July 12th

Tomorrow night (Wednesday, July 12, 2023) at 8 pm, there will be a Beating of the Retreat Ceremony on the Cabinet Office Grounds in Hamilton. This colourful pageant of military music, popular tunes, and precision drill is performed by the Royal Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums, Bermuda Islands Pipe Band and the Bermuda Highland Dancers.

Ministry of Public Works Provides Latest Update on Pothole Repair Initiatives

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we continue our work to address the pothole issues caused by the recent heavy rainfall,” said Minister of Public Works, Lt. Col. the Hon. David A. Burch, OBE (Mil), ED, JP, MP, in an update on the Ministry’s repair efforts.

The Premier, the Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP, is in Trinidad and Tobago this week to attend the 45th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government.

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) is reminding the public that the Commemorative Stamp marking the Coronation His Majesty King Charles III is available for purchase.

As the public will recall, King Charles III was crowned on May 6th at Westminster Abbey.

The Post Office produced one thousand (1,000) first day covers and this commemorative stamp was the first to be issued within the Commonwealth or the Overseas Territories.
