Last Friday (April 14), Premier David Burt and the Head of the Public Service, Dr. Derrick Binns recognised the Department of Child & Family Services’ Solution-Focused Advocacy Training (SFAC) Committee as the recipients of the March Public Service Excellence Award.

Fishing in Seasonally Protected Areas Extended by One Week

This winter has been a difficult one for many fishermen as windy conditions have limited the number of fishing days,” said the Minister of Home Affairs, Walter Roban, following detailed discussions with technical experts in the department and a review of information on local fisheries, particularly the Hind Grounds, “As such, to assist the fishermen, the Ministry has decided to keep these fishing grounds open for a little longer this year.”

Pink Ferry Route Reminder

The Ministry of Transport is reminding the public that the additional Sunday Pink Route ferry service becomes effective April 16.  

Please see the below. As the public is aware, the Pink Route ferry services commuters in Paget and Warwick areas. The ferry runs along Hamilton Harbour and makes stops at, Salt Kettle, Darrell’s Wharf, and the Belmont Ferry.

The Minister of Transport, Wayne Furbert announced earlier this year that the Ministry and the Department of Marine and Ports Services were working diligently to enhance the Pink Route Ferry for area residents.
