Payroll tax relief benefit information must be received from applicants and employers by January 31

“Over 400 payroll tax relief applicants have pending applications because employers have not verified their employment and salary. Additionally, over 150 applicants need to submit further information to receive their payment. To assist employers and applicants, the deadline has been extended for the receipt of additional information to January 31, 2023,” said Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt.

The Government recently released its 2023 – 2024 Pre-Budget Report. The Pre-Budget Report is a policy statement issued by the Government prior to the release of its budget.

DPT Notice: Detours due to Bermuda Triangle Challenge

The Department of Public Transportation (DPT) advises that there will be detours for Route 3,10 and 11  buses due to road closures associated with the Bermuda Triangle Challenge. The detours will be in effect on Saturday, January 14th and Sunday January 15th. Journey times on these routes will be impacted by the detours.

FISHERIES IMPORT LICENSESAnnual licenses to import live fish (including shellfish) and conch meat under Section 6 of the Fisheries Act 1972 expired on 31st December, 2022.  Applications to relicense or obtain a first-time Import License for the year 2023 can be made at the Licensing Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources located in the Botanical Gardens, Paget.  The Licensing Office is open daily from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday.  The application fee is $95.00.
