Shooting Incident Police Briefing – Minister of National Security Remarks

I join the BPS and the community in condemning today’s (Monday) shooting incident in the Court Street area. This is the second shooting incident to take place in just over a week; the last one being July 25, 2021 which left two men in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Today’s shooting incident is very concerning, particularly as it happened during the middle of the day with bystanders nearby.

As I visited the areas this afternoon with the Gang Violence Reduction Team (GVRT) and spoke with residents and businesses, I heard and observed their distress and concern.
