The Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Dr. Ernest Peets announced today that the Parish Councils Amendment Bill 2022 will be tabled in the House of Assembly tomorrow, September 30, 2022.
Minister Peets said, “Parish Councils serve our community well, and we have been working to review their governance arrangements.
“This Bill will resolve some inconsistencies identified in the Parish Councils Act and enhance governance of the Councils.”
The amendments brought about by this Bill aim to achieve five things:

Today, I am pleased to announce that the Bermuda economy grew 5.4 per cent in real terms to total $6.3 billion in 2021. Bermuda’s Economy is rebounding strongly from the economic downturn experienced in 2020.
Although we are not back to pre-pandemic economic activity, positive economicperformance was recorded as fourteen of the nineteen industry groups’ experienced economic expansion. At current prices, GDP increased by 5.8 per cent in 2021.

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2701 test results, and 32 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 1%.

· Wednesday: 5 positive out of 491 results (1.0% positivity)
·Thursday: 5 positive out of 298 results (1.7% positivity)
·Friday: 0 positive out of 11 results (0.0% positivity)
·Saturday: 5 positive out of 374 results (1.3% positivity)
·Sunday: 6 positive out of 356 results (1.7% positivity)
