Good morning.
Following the November 6th Speech from the Throne, I would like to highlight upcoming initiatives that fall under my remit as the Minister of Public Works.
Many will know that the intricate story of Bermuda started on the shores of an east-end landfall, and from that unintended beginning, the Island’s historical anchor has been St. George’s. Rebuilding Bermuda must encompass the renewal of the east end.
On Thursday, November 5th 2020 Minister of Home Affairs the Hon. Walter Roban JP, MP visited the St. Regis Bermuda Resort site in St. George’s for a tour and progress update from the developers.
Minister Roban was joined by MP Lovitta Foggo, Senator and Junior Home Affairs Minister Lindsay Simmons as well as the Director of Planning, Victoria Pereira – plus various Department of Planning staff and members of the Development Applications Board (DAB).
Premier David Burt, BTA Interim CEO Glenn Jones and Shadow Tourism Minister Craig Cannonier all commented on the temporary closure of Pompano Beach Club.
