COVID-19 Daily Release 6 January 2021
There were 650 test results received by the Ministry of Health since the last update and four were positive for COVID-19. One of the new cases is classified as imported by a resident who arrived on DL 617 from New York on 4 January 2021 and tested positive on their arrival test.
Two of the new cases are classified as local transmission with known contacts as they are associated with known cases.

The Minister of National Security, the Hon. Renee Ming, JP, MP gave remarks at the Covid-19 press conference held yesterday evening, 5 January 2021. The statement is posted below:
Minister Renee Ming stated: “The Bermuda Police Service has released the name of Bermuda’s first road traffic accident victim. It is with heavy sadness that behalf of the Government, I am extending our condolences to the family of Oronde Wilson Jr. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
“One death on Bermuda’s roads is one too many.
Cemetery Road Reopening
The public will recall the Ministry of Public Works advisory from December 2018 announcing the closure of Cemetery Road, between Cemetery Lane and the bridge to Gorham’s Limited, to facilitate construction of BELCO’s North Power Plant (NPP). The road closure, originally scheduled for just over one year, continued for just over two years.
Recently, the announcement was made that Cemetery Road is reopened for public access.
The Ministry would like to take this opportunity to provide the public with some background information on the decision to reopen Cemetery Road.
